What is Ecotherapy?

Ecotherapy can take many forms but it is based on the scientific evidence that human beings are affected positively through their connection to the natural world. However, it is more than just a walk in the park. Not only do we need the exposure to sunlight, fresh air, water, and earth but on a spiritual level we must remember that we ARE Nature. Human beings are in a symbiotic and reciprocal relationship with Mother Earth. The health of the Earth is reflected in us and vice versa. Interdependence is the name of the game.

Many humans suffer from Nature Deficit Disorder and this can lead to depression, anxiety, and a feeling of unease. By reconnecting to our Source and purpose through intentional contact with Nature, we give ourselves the very best environment to heal from the stressors of modern day society.

However, this is not just a one sided relationship. Earth is not here solely for humans to consume and use. We are in a reciprocal relationship with her. By reconnecting on a spiritual level with Gaia, human beings understand their place in the system and what is required of them to give back to Earth.
